Al Shabab Stadium — Riyadh

Al Shabab Stadium is the home ground of the Al Shabab club in Riyadh, an intimate arena of around 13,000 and the smallest venue of the AFC Asian Cup 2027. Its close, steep-sided stands make for a loud, tightly packed matchday, the kind of setting that gives group fixtures a real edge.

As a club ground rather than a national arena, it offers a more traditional football atmosphere, with supporters right on top of the pitch. Its size suits group-stage matches where a full house generates an outsized wall of noise.

The stadium sits within the Al Shabab club complex in the Al Khaleej district on the eastern side of Riyadh, an established residential and sporting area of the capital. The city centre and its hotels lie to the west, within a manageable drive, so the ground is easy to reach from wherever you are staying in Riyadh.

Riyadh is served by King Khalid International Airport to the north, and the Al Khaleej district is reached from across the city by road and rail.

• By car — the district is reached via the eastern approaches and ring roads; parking around a compact ground fills quickly, so arrive early
