The AFC Asian Cup
The AFC Asian Cup is the flagship men's national-team tournament of the Asian Football Confederation, contested once every four years by the continent's leading sides. It is one of the oldest continental championships in world football and carries deep significance across a region that spans West Asia, the Gulf, Central and East Asia, and beyond.
For the 2027 edition, Saudi Arabia takes on hosting duties, bringing the tournament to stadiums in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar. The event draws national squads and their travelling supporters together for several weeks of football, from the group phase through to the final.
Tournament Format
The competition is played in two phases. In the group stage, the qualified nations are divided into groups and each side plays a fixed set of matches, with the leading teams progressing to the next round. The knockout phase then follows a single-elimination bracket — round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final — where every match must produce a winner.
Because tickets are sold on a per-match basis, supporters can build a trip around a single nation, a single city, or the marquee knockout ties. The confirmed match list and dates are published on the schedule as they are finalised.
Host Cities and Stadiums
The 2027 finals are spread across three Saudi cities. Riyadh, the capital, anchors the tournament with several stadiums, from large national arenas to established club grounds. Jeddah, the Red Sea port city, adds major venues of its own, while Al Khobar on the Gulf coast completes the host map.
Each stadium brings its own capacity, location and matchday atmosphere. Detailed guides — how to reach each ground, what surrounds it, and how seating is arranged — are collected on the venue guide.
Planning Your Visit
With matches split across three cities, many visitors plan a trip around the fixtures of a particular group or the later knockout rounds. Saudi Arabia's host cities are linked by domestic flights and major road routes, and the tournament falls in the cooler part of the year, which suits days spent travelling between venues and evenings at the football.
Seating layouts and directions for each ground are covered on the venue guide, and questions about ordering, delivery and entry are answered on the FAQ page. For an overview of everything on sale, return to the homepage.
